1975-1995: Vietnamese Boat People - Following the Vietnam war and as a result of Viet Minh persecution of many ethnic groups such as the Hoa in Cambodia, many Vietnamese and Cambodians left the area as refugees. The majority of these people escaped by boat and settled in developed countries. To this day, the United States has a high Vietnamese population. (1 Jan 1975 Jahr – 1 Jan 1995 Jahr)
