Beschreibung:

This war was a conflict between the communist state of North Korea and the vulnerable South Korea. North Korea got support from the USSR which provided funds to continue the expansion of communism and thus Soviet influence. The US president Harry Truman considered the threat of communism's spread in Asia to be dire and the US thus backed South Korea. This was the first major proxy war during the Cold War and also marked the promotion of Domino Theory to justify the policy of containment in order to keep the USSR and their power at bay.
