King Louis XVI, the last king of France, met his end after a series of unfortunate decisions that, while well-intentioned (sometimes), did not turn out as expected. The support he had given to American during the American Revolution had put them into such a state of debt that the people could not hold any longer and revolted, starting the French Revolution. It is argued that because of King Louis’ decisions in politics, the people revolted against a monarchy and saw it as their enemy.
