Miguel de la Madrid was the 52nd President of Mexico, who was also associated with the PRI Party, and valued democracy. He is a political conservative who valued combating corruption and improving foreign policies. The most important event during his Presidency was the discovery of Mexican petroleum, which helped stimulate foreign trade.
