The 54th president of Mexico, Zedillo was the last of a long line of presidents part of the PRI. At the beginning of his presidency, he was hit with the worst economic crisis Mexico had ever faced, and he tried to implement policy like rescuing the banking system with Fobaproa to bring Mexico out of the crisis.
