In the 1840’s the Victorian style adapted to include collapsed sleeves, low necklines, and larger shirts. Hair was also wore long or in a bun, and in the 1840’s women began to wear ringlets of curls. The 1840’s was also considered to have a far more Gothic style compared to the fashion in the 1830’s.
