After the Civil War, America was a nation in need of repair. This was an era of some of the biggest changes in America, such as the beginning of the Second Industrial Revolution, but also the birth of the KKK and the growth of racism. The 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments which were birthed out of the outcome of the Civil War, were enacted during this period, these Amendments gave freedmen rights that had previously been disallowed.
