Humanity was finally free of the Combine. Citizens began forming small villages outside of the cities. They gave birth and raised a new generation, the first generation to be born knowing of the Combine, but spared from its cruelties. Resistance forces spread across the globe, battling pockets of Combine resistance in a prolonged guerilla war.
