The Hundred Year´s war began because the king of England wanted to become the king of France because the English possessed so much French land. Although the French outnumbered the English and fought on the defensive side, the English won most battles until 1415. The war had 3 major turning points: The conflict during the reign of Edward III, the French defeat and Treaty of Toyes, and Joan of Arc and the end of the war.
