Italian immigrants influx (1 Jan 1900 Jahr – 1 Jan 1915 Jahr)

Beschreibung:

With the sudden rise of Italian immigrants who knew little to no English entering the US, suspicion and uncertainty arose. The English speaking residents did not trust the new immigrants because they could not understand them. These immigrants formed an Italian Mafia because they could not rely on the local police for protection. At this point, the Mafia was only used for protecting their members. At this point, these groups were practiclly unions with the ability to kill.
