Heian Period (1 Jan 794 Jahr – 1 Jan 1185 Jahr)
Beschreibung:
The Heian Period of Japan was marked by the rule of a secret power behind the throne represented by an emperor figurehead. This led to a long-lasting imperial house, due to the fact that the ruling party was, in reality, constantly changing. During this period, Japan both kept many of its own traditions, but borrowed many aspects of Chinese culture, including its language and script. As the equal-field system, borrowed from China, began to fail, two clans who owned much of the land in Japan fought a war which ended the Heian period. (3.2)
