The Industrial Revolution was an increase in production due to the use of machines and energy sources. It began in 1750 in Great Britain in the textile industry. John Kay invented the flying shuttle in 1733 to increase the speed of weaving. This then led to the demand for yarn, resulting in inventions of the Spinning Jenny in 1764. The Spinning Jenny was invented because the quality and speed of spinning wool into yarn needed to be improved. All of the innovations made in the Industrial Revolution, like the Agricultural Innovations, helped boost Great Britian's economy because of the growth in the consumer society. Things were also more affordable because products were being made at a cheaper rate so they would be sold at a cheaper rate.
