The Industrial Revolution began in Great Britain around 1750 because of the ingredients the country had to support an industrial revolution such as energy sources (coal), trade, population growth, and little government control in trade. The Industrial Revolution also began in the textile industry with the invention of the flying shuttle by John Kay which made weaving more effective and lead to other innovations in the textile industry such as the spinning jenny, the water frame, and the power loom. These innovations in the textile industry lead to mass production in factories in cities that were run by an owner. The workers who worked in factories worked long hours, for little pay. Another major innovation of The Industrial Revolution was the growth of trains because of the steam engine which connected people. The Industrial Revolution included many improvements in regards to the horrible sanitation as well as workers reforms. The Industrial Revolution lasted until around 1850 changing the course of history by accelerating technology and creating a consumer society.
