A literary period that took place between 428-1066

The type of English that existed during this period is not similar to the kind of English we today know of. The grammar was different as well as the pronacation. During this particular time England was under the rule of the Roman empire.

One famous piece of work that was made during this era was Beowulf a story from the Nordic countries. The litterature is considered one of the first of its kind. The story is about a hero that fights of three enemies. Sadly he dies later on.
