Colombia-Venezuelan War (7 Dez 1888 Jahr – 1 Nov 1891 Jahr)

After a series of minor conflicts since the dissolution of Gran Colombia, the two nations asked the French to intervene. However, the French, worried about the small sphere of influence Colombia had built, finalized the border against them. This angered Colombia and relations between them and Venezuela quickly broke down.

The Venezuelans, with French support, declared war on Colombia in hopes of cementing their influence. However, Colombia was able to quickly overrun Venezuela and France backed out quickly. The War was over relatively quickly with a crushing Colombian Victory, not only was the border returned to it's original version, but all disputes were settled in Colombia's favor.

They also annexed the OTL state of Táchira and occupied the coasts around Lake Maracaibo
