Franco-Guatemalan War (2 Okt 1871 Jahr – 10 Dez 1872 Jahr)

Following the establishment of the Second Mexican Empire, France began to occupy the country with pro-French forces. However, upon entering the Chiapas region, they were shot at by Guatemala, who also claimed the region.

France responded by issuing a series of unachievable demands to Guatemala from their office in Mexico City. When Guatemala refused, they occupied the disputed territories in Chiapas and in turn, Guatemala declared war.

The resulting war was fairly short and a symbolic vicotory for France, resolving all of Mexico's remaining disputes.
