Ceaser's Rise to power (1 Dez 58 Jahr v. Chr. – 7 Jan 50 Jahr v. Chr.)

Beschreibung:

Julius Ceaser was a very powerful general and was admired for his bravery and skills in battle. He was also respected by his soldiers for treating them well. One of his accomplishments were conquering nearly all of Gaul between 58 B.C. and 50 B.C. and that area is what we now call France. Ceaser is also known for writing a book called The Gallic Wars. Ceaser also had very powerful friends and made an alliance with two of Romes most influential men, Pompey and Crassus. After about 10 years, Ceaser's friends became jealous due to him being so popular, which also caused some problems. In the early 50 B.C. , Pompey's allies in the Senate ordered Ceaser to give up command of his armies and wanted Pompey to rule Rome alone. Ceaser refused this command and instead led his troops back toward Rome for a confrontation. Pompey and his allies fled Italy, due to them thinking they didn't have enough troops to defeat Ceaser. After fleeing, Ceaser's army chased Pompey's forces until they finally killed them in Greece around 48 B.C. Later on, Ceaser went back to Rome and started to gain power. Many people resented the way he'd gain power and also disappointed the senate and was later on killed by a group of the senate by being stabed to death around March 15 , 44 B.C.
