The Council of Trent,created by Pope Paul III, was an essential part of the Counter Reformation and it basically instigated the fact that in order to live out faith, scriptures are needed. It falls under the AP Theme of states and other institutes of power because it established an universal catechism of faith while challenging protestant beliefs.
