Also known as the Fifth [or Forth in the UK] Anglo-American War.

Following a series of anti-Japanese riots, extremely tense diplomatic talks, and the construction of a Japanese naval base in the French client state of Mexico, the United States were in a war-scare over Japan. All of these events came to a climax in November of 1907, when a powerful politician and good friend of the US president was killed in a riot [though it was never discovered whether he was killed by an American or a Japanese immigrant]. The US demanded reparations and an apology from Japan, though they only received insults and in October, the United States declared war of Japan.

Immediately the UK tried to intervene, not wanting another war with America so soon; however American refusals would put an end to these early negotiations. The US colony of the Mariana Islands were quickly taken by joint Anglo-Japanese forces from the Philippines, and the US Navy suffered a massive loss in the waters surrounding Jamaica. The US was able to make some important victories on the Vesperian border [which greatly benefited future defensive strategies for Vesperia]. However, these victories were largely symbolic as neither the US nor Vesperia really wanted to fight each other, them being each others primary trade partner.


After a year of indecisive naval battles between the powers, the US surrendered and signed the Treaty of Toronto in 1908, which ended the war in a White Peace, but brought great shame in America; bringing Anti-British sentiment to an all time high.
