Omar is the caliph in this time in Damascus, he was the person that established rules for tax amount towards foreign traders ( in regard for Byzantines traders ) that always went to trade in Syria, Iraq and others muslim territory. The plot started in small issues which later caused the wiped out of Muslim community in Granada.
