Beschreibung:

Son of John of Gaunt, Duke of Lancaster, and Blanche of Lancaster. The senior Plantagenet line had ended with the death of Richard II, but not before the execution of Thomas of Woodstock for treason. The heirs presumptive through Lionel of Antwerp were passed over in favour of the powerful Henry IV, descendant of Edward III through John of Gaunt (mainly because March's claim was through his grandmother). Henry spent much of his reign defending himself against plots, rebellions and assassination attempts. Had married Mary de Bohun (mother of Henry V) and later married Joan of Navarre.
