Laredo Dispute (8 Jan 1852 Jahr – 17 Sept 1854 Jahr)
Beschreibung:
Following the establishment of the Republic of the Rio Grande, a problem became apparent over the capital. The claimed capital of Laredo was north of the Rio Grande, which served as the border with the United States. The dispute lasted until 1854 with the Laredo Agreement.
In the agreement, the United States would construct a new capital south of Laredo. During construction, multiple cities served as the de facto capital, such as Ciudad Victoria and Monterrey.
While the dispute ended in 1854, the new capital was officially established as Nuevo Laredo.
