Redrik II, called Redrik the Great, was the eldest son of Maddas Janovric, a bastard son of Iszvan III who was legitimized on his deathbed.

Having been a general in the legions serving under Hanzi during the Third Imperial Succession Crisis, he distinguished himself early on in his career, and was hailed by the legions as the new Emperor after Hanzi died before he could claim the imperial throne.

Showing keen political awareness and brilliant strategic prowess, Redrik the Great mobilized what few resources the collapsing Empire had left, reunified the Empire after defeating Jalans, son of Jidrik, at the Battle of Vjegwur.

He went on to bring Cantegeszo back from the brink of collapse, recovering the Upper Navrak after crushing the Rinyn and Wochnik clans, and saving the Middle and Lower Navrak after humiliating the Numatsi tribes at the Battle of Gaszadjre.

By the time of his death, Cantegeszo had been stabilized, with the legions and their generals now the most powerful faction in the Empire, and imperial power overall restored - though still greatly weakened, due to the crippling manpower losses the Empire suffered during the Third Imperial Succession Crisis.
