Started by King Vimarhys III, it was an attempt to eliminate all other branches of the Heilig dynasty except for House Neris through intermarriage or murder. Therefor securing the kingdom for House Neris in perpetuity. It was also an attempt to have 'pure blood', untouched by the blood of commoners or other houses to flow through Neris veins. This time period became known as The Reign of Bad Kings due to this practice as well as others taken by the royal family in this time.
