Berlin Blockade and Airlift (25 Jan 1948 Jahr – 12 Mai 1949 Jahr)
Beschreibung:
On June 24th, 1948, the soviets cut off all road and rail access to Berlin, stopping all western allies food delivery to Berlin. The U.S. ended up flying just short of 5000 tons worth of supplies. The soviets gave in and finally let the trains and trucks delivery food to Berlin by ground for the first time in almost a year. This was a real show of resolve by the Berliner mechanics and pilots who were flying in sometimes deadly conditions, and showed that the USSR couldn't stop the USA from getting food to starving Germans if need be.
