By the time of the howling, the SotR had been fully replenished (though there was still no 1st company). They were also lucky enough to have had a navigator survive, and have been passing by Vermund, a local world, which was home to a navigator house. They landed on the planet, which had been thrown into turmoil and provided much needed aid. When order was restored, they received sufficient navigatory support to attempt warp travel. It proved a dangerous endeavor, but it was possible. Using their fortunate position the sons spent the next 50 or so years ensuring the safety of their protectorate worlds and aiding the struggling imperium locally. It was a tireless period, but their work was important
