Vedic Age (1 Jan 1500 Jahr v. Chr. – 1 Jan 50 Jahr v. Chr.)

Beschreibung:

The Vedic age was well known for its creation of the Vedas, the oldest one of the Hindu's sacred texts. The reason it was so significant is due to the fact it marked the transition from a semi-nomadic culture to to a settled agriculture and foundational social, political, and religious structures that shaped the soon developing Indian civilizations ahead of it. The Vedas is divided into 4 main parts, the Rig Veda, Sama Veda, Yajur Veda, and the Atharva Veda. The Rig Veda is the oldest and most important, the Sama Veda is more melodic, the Yajur Veda played a crucial role in guiding the priests on how to perform various sacrificial rites, which were central to Vedic religion, and the Atharva Veda was/is distinct from the other Vedas, as it includes not only hymns and prayers but also spells, incantations, and rituals related to everyday life, such as healing, protection from evil, and ensuring prosperity.
