Gleb (1 Jan 990 Jahr – 9 Sept 1015 Jahr)
Beschreibung:
Son of Vladimir the Great. Brother of: Vysheslav, Sviatopolk I, Yaroslav, and BorisPrince of Murom
Gleb was summoned by Sviatopolk to Kiev. Yaroslav warned him that their father and brother Boris were dead, and that Sviatopolk meant to kill him.
The story goes, that hearing this Gleb went to pray, when Sviatopolk's men arrived. Gleb ordered his men to drop their weapons, that he would not fight nor kill. Gleb was then ordered killed by Sviatopolk's men.
Was canonized as a martyr.
