Vsevolod I (1 Feb 1030 Jahr – 13 Apr 1093 Jahr)

Beschreibung:

5th Son of Yaroslav the Wise. Brother of: Iziaslav I, Sviatoslav II,
Father of: Vladimir II, & of 1 other son & 3 daughters

Ruled as part of Iziaslav's triumvirate until 1073 and his brother Sviatoslav II's revolt. Held Kiev for 6mos. after Sviatoslav's death, before returning it to Iziaslav peacefully.

In 1077 nephews of he and Iziaslav rebelled with mercenary Tatar troops. They took Chernigov. Vsevolod and Iziaslav attacked their nephews, killing one and routing their army. Iziaslav died in battle and Vsevolod took the throne of Kiev.

During his rule he continued fighting with his rebellious nephew, as well as Vseslav of Polotsk (who had usurped his brother 10yrs prior).

Died peacefully in 1093.
