Beschreibung:
Pericles was an Athenian statesman whose Archonship took place during what is referred to as the 'Golden Age' of Athens. In this period, he changed Athenian citizenship laws to include only those with two Athenian parents and conducted many events to establish and promote the dominance and superiority of the Athenian empire. His rule saw the start of the construction of the Acropolis in 447 BCE. Pericles' participated in many military campaigns, the last of which being an arduous yet ultimately successful attempt to recover Samos.
