Mary Tudor was the daughter of Henry VIII and Catherine of Aragon, and came to reign after Henry’s son, Edward I, died. Mary was a devout catholic and killed 287 protestants in an effort to convert everyone back to catholicism. This was not accepted well at all. She married Philip II, but died before they had any children.
