Fritz was the first black NFL player who did great things for the sport. However, shortly after he entered the league, the NFL owners sign a “gentleman’s agreement” which prevented more black players from entering the league. Fritz ended up having a good career still showing the white owners and haters that black men could still play good football during the time where no others were allowed in the league.
Lasting effect
Fritz held open the door for the future black men of America to continue their NFL dreams in a time where no others were allowed in.
