Adams Presidency (1 Jan 1824 Jahr – 1 Jan 1829 Jahr)
Beschreibung:
The Presidency of John Quincy Adams was most notable in that it saw the Whigs define themselves as a party. The Whigs became noteworthy for their support of the American System, which argued for using a national bank in order to finance infrastructure like roads, bridges and canals that would promote internal commerce. Additionally, the Whigs strongly supported the Monroe Doctrine which viewed European attempts to regain their colonies in the Americas as war against the US.
