Columbus' Third Voyage (1 Jan 1498 Jahr – 1 Jan 1500 Jahr)

Beschreibung:

Columbus' aim was to find a direct trade route to Asia, in hopes to circumvent the Portuguese trade routes through the Indian Ocean. He founded the city of Trinidad and explored South America where he met resistance by the indigenous people, whom he had enslaved and made to mine for gold, instituting brutal practices. After this he was accused of mismanagement by the Spanish crown and was arrested, then brought back to Spain to stand trial.
