Ãrkam grew up alongside his cousin Ãlsínam in Korkortum. They would brawl, swordfight, hunt, and play numerous logic games popular among royals with each other. However when Ãlsínam developed typhoid fever, killing him soon thereafter. The loss of his cousin pushed Ãrkam to look after Ãlsínam's sons as was his dying wish to Ãrkam.

Once Morsam I passed away, Ãlsínam's son, Palsam became DoramMakarui but because Palsam was only 9 years old at the time, Ãrkam was designated as his regent until he turned 15 years old in 1773. While ruling as regent, Ãrkam became corrupted and accustomed to power and began plotting to kill Palsam and Morsam in order to fully obtain control over Makarum, despite his promise to protect Ãlsínam's sons.

To kill Palsam, Ãrkam plotted to have him pushed into the ocean and drown. This worked and he declared his death the same day. The Senate of Makarum chose Morsam to become the next Doram, naming him Morsam II and kept Ãrkam as the regent. Satisfied with more time as regent, Ãrkam began relaxing and waiting to plot his next assassination against Morsam. As Morsam II was approaching his 15th birthday on August 4, 1576, Ãrkam tried to have him killed by poisoning his meal 3 days before his birthday. The poison did not kill Morsam but it did put him in a 9 day coma and while in a coma, Ãrkam seized power from him. Morsam was taken to his family's home in Korkortum where he would stay until he was healed from the coma and poison. He organized a rebel army to usurp Ãrkam from power which succeeded in 1581, but Ãrkam retaliated by ousting Morsam in 1585. Morsam took control again in 1588 but was quickly kicked out of power by Ãrkam in 1591. The war ended in 1597 when Ãrkam was finally overpowered and arrested by Morsam and tortured for his crimes for 2 years until his public execution.
