The Hungarian Revolution lasted from October 23rd until November 10th, 1956. The revolution was a nationwide revolt against the government of the Hungarian People’s Republic and its Soviet-imposed policies. Although this revolt started as a student demonstration, it quickly spread across Hungary and the government quickly collapsed.
