Vietnam War (1 Nov 1955 Jahr – 30 Apr 1975 Jahr)

Beschreibung:

This was a war between the North and South Vietnamese. The North (communist) were supported by the USSR and the South (democratic) were supported by the USA (and South Korea, Australia, Thailand, and others). The goal of the North Vietnamese and Vietcong was to unite Vietnam under one communist government. While many people in America viewed this as an unjustified war, the government justified their actions as they were practicing containment and attempting to help prevent South Vietnam from falling to the communists. The war ended when Saigon fell to the North, and the two countries became one under a communist government.
