After forging the crime scene of Joe Darke's "final victim" and successfully incarcerating him, Damon Gant arranged for Lana Skye to become Chief Prosecutor of the district and blackmailed her to conform to his will. Gant was also promoted to the Chief of Police position, effectively making him the sole authority behind the legal system.
