In the autumn of 1835, Texans and Tejanos rise in rebellion against the oppressive Mexican government. This is known as the Texas revolution. Tejahnos were unhappy because couldn't do anything because the government was far away. There were many Americans illegally there who didn't follow rules about being citizens there
