Minoan Civilization (1 Jan 2000 Jahr v. Chr. – 1 Jan 1400 Jahr v. Chr.)
Beschreibung:
The Minoan civilization, which thrived on the island of Crete in the Aegean Sea from around 2000 to 1450 BCE, is known for its advanced culture and influence on subsequent civilizations. Their society was characterized by a complex palace-centered structure, such as the famous Palace of Knossos, which showcased sophisticated architecture and advanced plumbing systems. Minoans were skilled in art, with intricate frescoes depicting scenes of daily life and mythological subjects. They engaged in maritime trade, connecting with Egypt and other Mediterranean cultures, and their writing system, known as Linear A, remains largely undeciphered. Despite their accomplishments, the Minoan civilization mysteriously declined, possibly due to natural disasters or invasions, leaving behind an enduring legacy in the history of ancient Greece.
