After the Kushan court split over succession, both the Sassanians and Selaiki nobles claimed ownership of Central Asian lands. Following a tense political situation, it was determined that the territories with Selaiki noble heritage would become a vassal state under the Sassanid Empire, with Selga as its capital. This decision resulted in a resurgence of Selaiki influence in Persia and beyond under the Sassanid yoke.
