Roman control (1 Jan 43 Jahr – 1 Jan 409 Jahr)
Beschreibung:
The Romans invaded Britain in 43 AD.
At the time of invasion, the Roman empire was in control of most of Western and Southern Europe, as well as parts of Northern Africa and Western Turkey.
The Romans lost control of Britain in 409 AD, due to the threat posed from Germanic tribes looking to expand their own empire.
The Romans never fully succeeded in taking control of Britain, but they had control of most of the south, with land borders being created in the north, near to the modern day Scottish border.
The Romans invaded under the command of the Roman emperor, Claudius.
The Roman’s Latin alphabet was introduced, and many Latin root words were implemented into English
'enormous', 'victory' and 'lavatory'.
