Voltaire was an Enlightenment thinker who believed in certain freedoms and who wrote a book with an interesting moral. Voltaire supported religious freedom (Though he disliked organized religion), and he also supported freedom of speech, which was his biggest contribution. Voltaire wrote a book called "Candide", in which three friends suffer hardships until they come to the idea that one must tend their own garden, which means that one must almost live in their own world and not pay too much attention to things like major political events.
