The Song Dynasty has a strong navy and was able to voyage to new territory and it also had an innovation in the use of gunpowder. Improvement in the agricultural technology in rice lead to the population doubling. There was also achievements in the literature, philosophy, science and engineering. Confucianism gained a greater grasp of China. The Song Dynasty often fought against the Mongols.
