The country just over Egypt's southern border was called Nubia. Nubia had valuable natural resources such as gold and semi-precious stones. The ancient Egyptians tried to control Nubia so that they would have access to Nubia's resources. (15 Aug 2000 Jahr v. Chr. – 18 Mai 1700 Jahr v. Chr.)
