The Albany movement was a movement for desegregation and voting rights in Albany, Georgia. Over 1,000 protesters were jailed, and the police department continued to block progress created by the movement, so many people think of the Albany movement as a failure, but it also taught leaders like MLK important lessons on what was effective and what was not.
