Dunkirk Evacuations (26 Mai 1940 Jahr – 4 Jun 1940 Jahr)
Beschreibung:
May 26-June 4, 1940, the Dunkirk evacuations, or Miracle of Dunkirk, was a rescue mission of 338,000 British and French soldiers. This rescue mission was an insane boost to British morale. The soldiers were pushed back because of the German soldiers and ended up at Dunkirk by the beach. Many of the soldiers had no hope and believed that they would be stuck, possibly for years, waiting for word from anyone of what the next move would be. Over eight hundred naval vessels helped the transportation of troops from Dunkirk back to the English Channel. This operation saved all 338,000 soldiers which gave the soldiers the spirit to keep on fighting and gave many the “Dunkirk Spirit”.
