Who: World wide

What: Lasting almost a decade (from late 1929 until about 1939) and impacting nearly every country in the world, there was steep declines in industrial production and in prices (deflation), mass unemployment, banking panics, and sharp increases in rates of poverty and homelessness.

Where: Germany, Brazil, and the economies of Southeast Asia, Poland, Argentina, and Canada as well as the U.S.


Why: Throughout the 1920's the US economy expanded quickly (The Roaring Twenties) because everyone started investing into the stock market it underwent a rapid expansion, unfortunately production and unemployment had risen and stock prices were much higher than their actual value. The whole economy crashed.
