Alexander Great (1 Jan 340 Jahr v. Chr. – 1 Jan 323 Jahr v. Chr.)
Beschreibung:
Alexander the Great succeeded his father, Philip II, as the king in Macedon. Throughout his reign he conquered much of the known world including Darius III's Persia, Phoenicia, and Egypt. During his conquests, he didn't seek to overturn the culture of the people he conquered, but rather he adopted theirs as part of taking them under his rule. Nonetheless he left numerous cities named in his honor. The Hellenistic period which followed his death would leave lasting marks on the cultures throughout his empire as Greek influence spread rapidly.
