Greek Archaic Age (1 Jan 800 Jahr v. Chr. – 1 Jan 500 Jahr v. Chr.)
Beschreibung:
The beginning of the Archaic Age is marked by the return of investment in literacy, complex society and trade following the chaos of the collapse of the Bronze Age. During this time the Greeks developed strong city-states including Athens, Sparta, Ionian, Corinth, and Thebes. The city states became strong enough to reach out into the greater Mediterranean and build colonies in France, Spain, North Africa, and Anatolia. This period was wrought with new developments in philosophy, art, shipbuilding, metallurgy, writing, and sculpture.
